We put into our offer new laboratory ultrasonic scanners. Fast vibration-free measurement devices with data acquisition system, including A-Scan, B-Scan 2D, 3D, C-Scan 2D, 3D, SAFT, Phased array 2D, 3D. Measuring system for SAW Spiral Welded Pipe with 8, 16, or 32 channels for on-line Ultrasonic Examination of WELD, HAZ and BODY was created. We have created a system for seamless pipe on-line Ultrasonic Examination with 8, 16, or 32 channels. The manufacturing of a new family of stepper motor (OPCOM) and DC drivers was started. Ideal for applications in laboratory and industry. We start the production a new version of OPBOX ver 2.0. Together with the standard program it becomes an ideal system for use in testing (NDT) as well as for operating of hand-held and automated scanners systems, in the laboratory and in industry. We prepare an automatic ultrasound system to recognize the type of battery for one of our clients.

KICK OFF of WINTUR project in Cambrigde, UK. The goal is wireless monitoring of terrestrial and marine wing of windmills with the use of energy harvesting technology. We participate in international workshops in Singapore – part of HIDE project. The next meeting of the HIDE project consortium also has a place in Singapore.

We participate in a Policy Forum on Privacy as Contextual Integrity in Prague, as part of HIDE project. We prepare an ultrasonic measuring system adapted to the final version of the measuring heads at the Railect project. Work on the new versions of measurement cards OPCARD series and new power generators. Work on a new version of the ultrasonic camera with integrated additional finger detection device.

Work on ultrasonic tomography system to measure the distribution of moisture in construction materials. A new and more versatile special scanner is created. Finalizing the software. We test an ultrasonic siren designed and build for the project for Sealed Air. Completing subsequent phases of the Kraft projekt. The project at the experimental stage brings very concrete effects already. We put into production new version of OPMUX-03 multiplexer in 4 channels design. We fulfill orders for new ultrasonic modems. Design underway of a new version of ultrasonic camera fingerprint recognition.

We continue to work on projects for companies Sealed Air and Kraft. During the project HIDE arises database of biometric technologies. We start the project with the goal to create a new version of power generator (combined modular 1k, 2k, 3k, 4KW) to meet great interest of our clients. We fulfill orders for our current measurement systems; OPLABBOX, OPBOX, OPCARD, UG SA power generation and our transducers and ultrasonic measuring heads become very popular.

We work on projects for companies Sealed Air and Kraft Technical Meeting RAILECT Project (Cambridge, UK) - working on a new system of ultrasonic inspection of railway rails. We adopt a new version of our ultrasonic measurement card and the multiplexer for this particular system.

First large R&D projects, that has nothing to do with biometric technologies are started. They are made for Music Academy in Warsaw and has the goals to create an ultrasonic device for soft palate investigation and for the measurement of vibration of the scull of singing person. Both projects are financed by the KBN (Polish Science Comitee).

In the years 1985 to 1997 Optel and its predecessor are working intensively basically only on one project: Development of the holographic ultrasonic device for finger recognition. During this time many papers, describing this development are published. Many patents are registered.

Optel receives acknowledgement of its work on the finger recognition on the Poznan Innovation Fair.
